3 Easy Steps to Clean Out Your Closet!

3 Easy Steps to Clean Out Your Closet!

Some necessary wardrobe tender loving care seems like a natural way to make use of all the extra free time afforded to non-essential workers during this pandemic.

Trying not to over-work myself, yet maintain a healthy amount of activity, I've delved into rearranging and decluttering everything from old skincare products to kitchen appliances I promised to get fixed.

Now, I'm off to spring clean my favourite spot: The Closet.

I know! Clothes have got to be the hardest thing to get rid of. But a clear, ready-to-be-filled-with-new-clothes closet is quite therapeutic.

STEP 1: Start by identifying a bag/box for all items you'll donate to charity

STEP 2: Keep the basics. Things like jeans, casual dresses to wear around the house or to family gatherings. For men, shorts are easy to jump into when helping around the house, grocery shopping, and so on.

STEP 3: There's a rule of thumb which. states that if you haven't worn it in a year - toss it. However, if you're like me, and you don't repeat outfits that often, I'd say, if you haven't worn it in 3-4 years, throw it out! Same goes for pieces that were in style in 2016.

Ok, so circling back to step one. By now you would've filled your Charity Box. Though now isn't the best time to deliver non-essential packages to our local charities, so storing your box neatly until this period passes is a good idea.
